Bimasimple is an early-stage insurtech startup out of Nairobi. We’re rebuilding insurance infrastructure from first principles — the same way M-Pesa rebuilt banking.
Why we exist. African insurers run on software designed somewhere else, for a market that doesn’t look like ours. Renewals take weeks. Claims take months. Reinsurance reconciliations live in spreadsheets. We think the continent deserves better, and we’re young enough and stubborn enough to build it.
How we work. Small team. One product. We ship every week. Every feature goes through a live insurer before it leaves the lab. We build in the open, write our own Rust, and obsess over the details that legacy vendors stopped caring about a decade ago.

Erick Wasambo
Founder & CEO · Nairobi, Kenya
Erick is a Rust-first engineer who spent years watching African insurers try to digitise on systems built for someone else’s market. Bimasimple is his answer to that gap — an insurance core platform designed, engineered, and deployed from Nairobi, for the insurers who actually work here. He writes the code, talks to every early customer personally, and will be the one on your demo call.
